Approved by the TDLR

We've been continually approved by The State of Texas as both a Driving Safety School and Course Provider for over a decade, and our Houston defensive driving program is certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Whether you're taking the course to dismiss a traffic ticket, or simply want a discount on your auto insurance, you can rest assured that your completion certificate will be accepted by your court or insurance company.

Houston Defensive Driving Eligibility

If your goal is to attend a defensive driving course in order to have your traffic ticket dismissed, you will need to have court permission. Start by contacting the court shown on your citation and paying your fine, and request that they grant you permission to attend a Driving Safety course for your violation. Depending on the severity of your violation, the court may or may not grant you permission. Typically, minor moving violations are eligible, whereas more extreme violations, (such as speeding in excess of 95 miles per hour) are not. In Texas, there is a rule that you may take defensive driving to dismiss a ticket only once every 12 months. So, if you have already taken defensive driving in the past year for ticket-related reasons, you won't be eligible to do so again until 12 months have passed from the last ticket you had dismissed.
